Reminders
- Home Safety - BE VIGILANT - Although our neighborhood enjoys a low crime rate, please take common sense measures to assure your home is as safe as possible. Measures should include keeping all house and car doors locked as well as garage doors closed at all times. No one is immune from opportunistic petty thieves who prey on easy targets. Don't give them the chance.
- Furnace & Fireplace Check - it is a good idea to have your furnace checked annually by a licensed heating and air specialist. For a small charge, a furnace tune-up will ensure safety and efficiency. Make sure your furnace filter is changed every few months depending on usage. Also, if you use your fireplace, please have your fireplace and chimney cleaned and checked annually by a professional.
- West Nile Virus - due to our consistently mild climate and rainy winters, West Nile virus is a threat all year long. Mosquitoes spread this virus. They breed in stagnant water. Please make sure that you do not have standing water. Even a small amount that accumulates in the bottom of a planter is a problem. Fountains either need to be running daily, covered, or drained. Also, if you have bird baths - add or change the water daily. Mosquitoes will not breed in moving or fresh water. - Dogs - Please keep your dogs on a leash and pick-up waste.
- Crawl Spaces - Check yours periodically for animal intrusion and excessive moisture especially standing water. The crawl spaces are the responsibility of the homeowner. It is advisable that you do not use your crawl space as a storage area. It is not unusual for a reasonable amount of moisture/water to accumulate in the crawl space during heavy rains. If water does not dissipate within a few days, maintenance is advisable.
- Mailboxes - Locking mailbox keys are the responsibility of the homeowner. If you lose all 3 of the keys provided to you, you will need to call a locksmith to have your mailbox lock drilled and replaced.
- Parking Spots - are for temporary use only. They are reserved for guests. Homeowners are not allowed to park their own cars in the spots for extended periods of time ... see Parking Policy - requires password. Also, please ask your guests to please use the guest parking spots; they should not park on the street.
- Exterior Changes - If you are planning to make any change that will affect the exterior of the house including satellite dishes, you are required to gain permission from the board. Please see the policy for satellite dishes under Documents and the request forms under Requests.
